Paleo and Gluten Free Goodness at Urban pL8

Last weekend my sister came into town, as she does once a month now. She wanted to go out to dinner. Normally, we go to Harry and Sons and enjoy a good meal, but this time we decided to do something different.

I had been playing around in ScoutMob and had noticed a discount for this place called Urban PL8. Both Scott and I went online to look around to see what they offered on their menu. Everything looked really good.

Since we’re borderline Paleo-gluten-free in our house, a few of the items on their menu caught my eye. One of them being the Paleo Coconut Shrimp, which is what I had – it was fabulous.

I was really excited about going to Urban PL8 and knew I had to talk my sister into going. It took a little convincing but she agreed to go – and I’m so glad she did. This place was amazing!

Urban pL8 is this little place, tucked away in the city – literally! It’s not a place that you would see from the main road.

When arrived, we opted to sit out on the patio. They sat us at this really long family style table – which we thought was beautiful. There was already one family on the other side of the table – we sat on the other end (they can definitely accommodate large parties).

The ambiance was great. It’s a great place for a date :-) . But, what struck me the most was the food. Scott and I both love to eat. If eating was a sport, I think we would both be champions – Lol! Eating at this place was just amazing.

I had the Paleo Coconut Shrimp with a side salad and a blueberry Mojito to drink – which were all fabulous. Then for dessert, I had their Paleo Chocolate Pudding, which was a mix of cocoa, avocados, coconut milk, and agave. It was heavenly. It was rich and creamy – it was just really decadent. I was very surprised that it was so good.

Scott ended up having a double cheeseburger with a side Spring Salad. My mom ended up having crab cakes, which were amazing too. My sister had the Glazed Salmon over a bed of brussel sprouts and a couple of other grilled vegetables, which was also wonderful. My other sister had a veggie burger, which was made of pinto beans and a few other things. I’ll post a link to their menu down below so you can check it yourself.

Anyway, all this is to say that the food was excellent and the atmosphere was even better. The waiter was funny, very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back to the Urban PL8.

The food was pretty reasonable, although we did spend quite a bit of money there with five people and several drinks. It was definitely well spent money, in my opinion.

We’ll leave all of the information for the Urban PL8 at the bottom of this post. If you’re visiting Atlanta or if you live in Atlanta and haven’t tried them out yet, I highly suggest you run over and try out some of their wonderful cuisine.

If you have visited the Urban PL8, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. I don’t know many people that have been except for my mom. That’s part of the reason why we went, because she said it was really good.

  1. Ohh sounds like an awesome place! How close to the Marriott Century Center? I would love to try it in August if it’s close by. Great review!
